How does it reach the size?
For photos it looks for the highest JPEG quality that stays under your limit and only shrinks the picture itself when quality alone is not enough. For PDFs it shrinks the large pictures inside first, so text stays selectable, and only turns pages into images as a last resort.
What if the file cannot get that small?
The tool tells you the smallest size it managed to reach. For a PDF you can then remove pages, split it, or scan again at a lower resolution.
Can I set exact pixel dimensions for a photo?
Yes. Open "Exact dimensions", enter a width and height and choose whether to crop to fill or fit inside on a white background.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
