Privacy Policy

1. Your files

Bynd PDF's tools — merging, splitting, editing, compressing, signing, and everything else on this site — run as JavaScript inside your own browser tab. When you open a PDF, image, video or audio file in a tool, it is read, processed, and saved right there on your device using your browser's own memory. It is never sent to any server we operate, so there is nothing for us — or anyone else — to see, store, or leak. Closing the tab clears it completely, unless you've downloaded the result yourself.

This includes anything else you pick from your device — a font, an image, a signature or a logo. It is read inside your browser only and is never sent to us.

This applies to every tool on the site, including the AI-assisted ones (like Background Removal, Chat with PDF, Summarize, Translate, Transcription, Subtitle Generator, Watermark Removal, and Face Blur / Anonymize). The AI model itself is downloaded once from a public model host (Hugging Face for most tools; Google's own model hosting for Face Blur / Anonymize) so it can run locally in your browser — your photo, video, or PDF is never sent anywhere to be processed. Before that one-time download starts, tools that need a larger model (like Watermark Removal, ~28MB, or Face Blur / Anonymize, ~10MB) show you a clear notice first, so you know before anything downloads — after that first download, the model is cached in your browser and never downloaded again. OCR PDF works the same way: it downloads the language data for the language you choose from a public host, never your document. A few tools (like Video Trim, Video Merge, Video Compress, Audio Extractor, and Watermark Removal's video mode) briefly play your video or audio back to your own browser to re-record it — this still happens entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. Image Upscaler does not use an AI model at all — it runs entirely on standard, on-device image resampling.

Some tools have their own landing page (for example the Merge PDF page). If you choose a file there, it is handed to the app through your browser's temporary local storage and removed again immediately — it never goes over the network.

One exception worth calling out directly: Listen to PDF reads your PDF aloud using your browser's own built-in voices by default, entirely on-device. If you pick a voice marked 🌐 Online, that voice isn't stored on your device — playing it sends the PDF's text to that voice's own provider (for example, Google) so it can generate the audio. We show you a clear warning before this happens every time, and you can always choose an on-device voice instead to keep everything local.

2. What we actually collect

We don't run user accounts, and using any tool requires no sign-up. Here is the complete list of the only ways any information about you reaches us:

• If you use the Contact form — your name, email address, and message are sent to us so we can reply. The form is delivered by a form-relay service, Web3Forms, which passes it on to our inbox. We use your details only to respond to you, and never share them or show them publicly.
• If you rate or review a tool — your star rating and any comment you write are stored (via Google Firebase) and shown publicly alongside that tool, so other visitors can see it. We don't ask for your name or email for this, and don't knowingly collect anything beyond the rating and comment text itself. Scrolling down to a tool's rating box also makes your browser contact Google Firebase to load that tool's average rating; no files or personal data are sent.
• If Google AdSense ads are shown on this site — Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technology to show ads and measure their performance. We don't control this data ourselves; see Section 5 below. No ads are shown at the time of writing.

We do not run our own analytics or tracking scripts, and we do not sell or share any information with third parties beyond what's described here.

3. Third-party services your browser contacts

Like any website, loading this one means your browser makes requests to a few other hosts, and those hosts can see standard connection details such as your IP address and browser type. None of these requests contain your files or anything you type into a tool (the Contact form is the one deliberate exception, listed last):

• Code libraries — the PDF engine and other open-source libraries are loaded from public CDNs (Cloudflare's cdnjs and jsDelivr). Some are loaded only when you open a tool that needs them (for example OCR, Excel or Word conversion).
• AI models and OCR data — downloaded only when you use a tool that needs them, from Hugging Face, Google's model hosting (Face Blur / Anonymize), or a public OCR language-data host.
• Fonts — the site's own interface fonts are hosted on this site. Tools with a font picker (such as Edit PDF, Sign PDF and the document generators) load extra preview fonts from Google Fonts when you open them. The font file you select is served from this site.
• Ratings — Google Firebase, as described in Section 2.
• Contact form — Web3Forms (api.web3forms.com), only when you press Send on the Contact page. Unlike the other hosts above, this request does contain what you typed in the form.
• Donation link — Ko-fi, only if you click the Support link.

4. Local storage on your device

To remember small preferences — your chosen language, light/dark theme, any tools you've starred as favorites, tools you've recently used, whether you've already rated a tool, and whether an AI model has been downloaded — this site uses your browser's local storage (and, briefly, its IndexedDB when you hand a file over from a tool's landing page). This data stays on your device only; it is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site aims to stay free with the help of Google AdSense. At the time of writing no ads are shown. If ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and third-party vendors may show Bynd PDF ads across the internet. In that case, a consent notice will appear first, and until you accept, ads are requested in non-personalized mode.

• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

6. Cookies

Beyond any advertising cookies described above, Bynd PDF itself does not set any tracking cookies. The preferences described in Section 4 use local storage, not cookies.

7. Children's privacy

Bynd PDF is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the tools themselves require no sign-up and process files only on-device, the only way we'd ever receive personal information from anyone is through the Contact form.

8. Your rights

Since your files and PDFs never reach us, there's nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete for the tools themselves. If you've contacted us through the Contact form, you can ask us to delete that message at any time by emailing us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
